- 5.0 out of 5 stars from BOOK ADDICT -- DEATH SPIRAL ROLLER COASTER RIDE! BEST READ THIS YEAR! : WTH! What can one say about a book that traps you like a thrill ride from the moment you start until it ends? I’ve never read anything like this, and at the same time, I found myself questioning what I’d just read. The intertwining of the reality and fantasy; light and dark; good and evil. It’s literally like a roller coaster with all the ups and downs, twists and turns with some steamy and spicy scenes we all love. And then that death spiraling drop, the plot twist I never saw coming, to be left with a cliff hanger we all love to hate, but this one was done so good, my mouth is still on the floor panting for book 2! And the characters are so well developed and you can’t help but fall in love with them. The chemistry between Blake and Kira is a slow burn of torture played out so well. They remove me of Casteel and Poppy. And Larz quickly became my favorite. And Kat, she’s the fun and caring friend everyone needs in their life. The description of the magic is slowly dripped out, and the relationships with the side characters and friends are well developed. The tension and spice? **chef's kiss** The author did a phenomenal job of weaving our main character's dreams and nightmares into the storyline, keeping the reader guessing - what is real? Is she going crazy? Who can she trust? For the first half of the book I felt like I only had a lot of questions, but as it started to built I blew through the second half scrambling to figure out what was happening. Ends on a huge cliffhanger, already waiting for the next book to come out!This book kept me on my toes the WHOLE time! There’s also some fun parts, particularly the banter between the warlocks and Kira’s girlfriends, but mostly this is a dark story of love, passion and the many shades of good and evil.
